Dehu Village of Sant Tukaram Maharaj

Dehu - Dehu is a place of Sant Tukaram Maharaj – a well known sant in Maharashtra during 16th century. It is 32 km away from Pune city and 15 km from Alandi. Sant Tukaram maharaj was the great devotee of lord Vitthal and he taught the people the importance of bhakti yog. Dehu is a place where the 'Abhang 'of Sant Tukaram can be remembered. One can see his temple here on the banks of the river. This temple was constructed by his younger son Narayanbaba in 1723. Various other temples nearby are worth seeing. Sant Tukaram will always be remembered for his Abhang and Gatha.
